An original multi-layer production cel and background from the Marvel Studios animated series "X-Men" (1992-1997). Featuring Mystique while Rogue has her briefly strapped to the table where "The Cure" is administered, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. Both pieces are from a frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the season one episode "Come the Apocalypse," which aired on February 27, 1993. Measuring 10"x14" overall, with the character image measuring 6.75"x4" on a 10.5"x12.5" cel, the pieces are in very good condition. The cel displays minor scratches, surface wear, light line fade, and paper transfer to the reverse from being stored with a previous backing. The background shows minimal edge and corner wear, and production-related masking tape to the background cel overlay. There was an additional cel layer used during production that depicted the actual table. We've recreated this imagery with a cut out to replicate the layer for presentation purposes.
